Born in 1925, in the outskirts of Rome Tazio
Secchiaroli became famous at the end of 1950's
taking photographs of "glamorous" people frequenting
via Veneto. During
this period, he also got to know Federico
Fellini and gave him various ideas for his film
La Dolce Vita.
In 1960 the famous director opened the doors of Cinecittà
to him.
Having taken distance from his past as a paparazzo to become
an author, he captured the looks and gestures of actors
and actresses to create a gallery of beautiful portraits
also encompassing the atmosphere of the era.
In 1964 he became the personal photographer of Sofia Loren
and travelled the world with her. He was in very close contact
with the most famous directors and actors.
He stopped photographing in 1983. "Beacause photography,
like any other art, requires a great amount of energy. In
1983 I felt that this energy in me was exhausted. That is
why I decided to stop."
